Growing up in a small village where conserving natural resources had always been a necessity, intensified my will towards contributing to conservation. My interest in ecology fuelled when I started visiting different habitats and exploring the biodiversity at these places during my graduation. My Master’s dissertation was based on recreation ecology wherein I looked into the impacts of tourism on herbaceous vegetation on a rock outcrop in Lonavala, Maharashtra.
I strongly believe in outreach and contribute to that end in my capacity. Owing to my previous jobs, I got an opportunity to interact with communities from different states and student cohort from diverse socio-economic background. I feel it is important to reach out, the importance of biodiversity, to the communities and have them play an active role in scaling up the level of conservation. I also enjoy teaching, travelling and art.
